National Drought Monitoring System (NDMSRG) based on remote sensing techniques

 Introduction: Water Resources Division of SPARRSO has been carrying out research works under the five-year plan (2011 – 2015) for its research and operational work to establish a system for monitoring drought in the country. The ultimate objective of this research is to develop and establish national system for monitoring drought operationally in Bangladesh based on remote sensing and GIS.


Strategy for development of the NDMS: The “National Drought Monitoring System (NDMSRG)” is being developed in phases based on the gradation of it as given in the table below.
